DNAnswer ("we", "us", "our") operates the website dnanswer.app (the "Service"). This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to this policy.

  • Account data: email address, username, display name and password hash when you sign up.
  • Content you create: questions, answers, quiz responses and profile information.
  • Usage data: pages visited, device/browser info and approximate location derived from IP address.

  • To provide and maintain the Service (accounts, XP, leaderboard).
  • To moderate content and prevent abuse.
  • To improve features and fix bugs.
  • To send essential service emails (e.g. password reset, security notices).

3. Third-party services

We rely on trusted providers to operate DNAnswer:

  • Supabase — authentication, database and storage.
  • Google AdSense — advertising. Google may use cookies to personalise ads. See Google's privacy policy.
  • Google Search Console & Analytics — aggregate traffic insights.

4. Cookies & advertising

We and our partners use cookies for authentication, preferences and advertising. You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the Service may stop working. You can opt out of personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and content for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we remove personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain it for legal reasons.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/UK under GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@dnanswer.app.

7. Children

DNAnswer is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy. Material changes will be highlighted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
